AC Condenser coils are situated in the outdoor unit of your air conditioner. The whole purpose of the condenser coils is to move heat out of your home and replace it with cool air.
Your air conditioning system runs day in and day out during the summer. After a while, it accumulates dirt, dust, and debris. When it gets covered with grime, the heat cannot escape the condenser coil, and the heat process is impeded. To avoid this problem, coil cleaning should be a part of regular maintenance.
Here are 3 reasons why you should clean your air conditioner condenser coils.
Ensures optimum performance
Your air conditioner is a complex piece of machinery that is comprised of several parts. Your AC condenser coil is one of them.
Your AC condenser coil is one of two coils part of your air conditioning or heat pump system. The other coil, the evaporator coil, is located indoors while the condenser coil is located outdoors (in a split system). The condenser coil is where the heat is removed from the refrigerant.
After the gas refrigerant is pressurized and heated in the compressor, it enters the condenser coil. Here, two things happen. The gas refrigerant transfers its heat to the air blowing over it. Simultaneously, the refrigerant cools and turns into a liquid. The air around the coil will start to heat up and is blown out of the outdoor unit.

If your AC condenser coil doesn’t work well, the whole system will be affected.
Residue can impede the efficiency of your air conditioner. Take a look at your outdoor unit from time to time. Clean the outdoor unit and make sure that the surrounding areas are clear. If you’re not sure how to properly service your unit. Give Spurk HVAC a call.
Comfort
Most homeowners aren’t in the habit of cleaning their outdoor units. Remember: that the AC condenser coils are a part of the outdoor unit. Not cleaning the condenser coil impacts the performance of your AC. Heat gets trapped inside and can’t be effectively released when it is covered with dirt and debris. This will lead to inefficient cooling and increased energy consumption.
It is important to have your air conditioner cleaned regularly. Cleaning your AC condenser coil should be a part of it. The more efficient your AC is, the more comfortable your indoor environment will be.
Your AC will live longer
AC condenser coils are constantly subjected to dirt, leaves, dust, and bugs.
Remember, regular maintenance is the best way to maximize the life of your air conditioner. Failure to clean your air conditioning coils drives up your energy bills.
